How Long to Spend

Allow 60 to 90 minutes for a satisfying first visit. An hour covers the principal courtyards and rooms; ninety minutes gives you space to stop for ceilings, zellige and garden views.

If you have one hour

Move steadily through the entrance sequence, spend most of your time in the Grand Courtyard and the main reception rooms, then slow down in one smaller courtyard. Choose a few details to remember rather than trying to photograph every surface.

If you have ninety minutes

Add the quieter garden courts, compare the painted cedar ceilings from room to room and look closely at how zellige changes at thresholds. This pace also leaves room for short waits when tour groups converge.

Planning the rest of the day

Bahia combines naturally with the Mellah and Badi Palace. Avoid packing the schedule so tightly that a ticket queue or a longer stop inside makes you late. Marrakech is easier when you plan by neighbourhood rather than crossing the Medina repeatedly.
