Leave from the south-east side of the square
From Jemaa el-Fna, enter the Riad Zitoun el Jdid side rather than setting off at random through the souks. Keep Bahia Palace and Place des Ferblantiers saved on your phone; the latter is a useful visible landmark near the final approach.
Navigate the Medina calmly
GPS can drift between narrow lanes. Check the general direction at junctions, use fixed landmarks and avoid accepting an unsolicited detour from anyone claiming the palace is closed. Ask a shopkeeper for Palais Bahia if you need a quick confirmation.
