Jemaa el-Fna is the main orientation point north-west of Bahia Palace and a natural start or finish for the walk. Its character changes from daytime market activity to a much busier evening food and performance scene.

Choose the time for the experience
Daylight makes navigation toward Bahia easier. Late afternoon and evening bring denser crowds, food stalls and performance activity, so protect your belongings and agree on a meeting point.
Walk between the square and palace
Use the Riad Zitoun el Jdid side and keep Place des Ferblantiers as a secondary landmark. GPS can drift; check direction at junctions and ignore unsolicited claims that the palace is closed.
Participate respectfully
Ask before photographing performers or individuals closely and expect that some performances involve a contribution. Keep moving around crowded circles and do not block working spaces.
